Scan protocol

Face scan photo checklist

Run this before every baseline and monthly compare. Bad input invents fake gains — and fake losses.

  1. 01

Face a window or soft lamp — no harsh overhead LEDs.

  2. 02

Camera at eye level; arm or tripod distance consistent with past scans.

  3. 03

Hair off the forehead and jaw. No hat. No beauty filters.

  4. 04

Glasses off when you can. Thick frames and lens glare cover the eye corners and brows.

  5. 05

Neutral expression, chin neither tucked nor stretched.

  6. 06

Optional: bare face for skin quality trends.

  7. 07

Scan, save, and only compare under the same protocol.

Glasses and the scan photo

Should I wear glasses for a GlowUp face scan?

Take them off when you can. The face-scan photo guide already asks for glasses off so the photo shows the eye corners, brows, and jaw the protocol measures. Thick frames and lens glare cover those landmarks. There is no published accuracy percentage for glasses-on versus glasses-off scans, so this page does not invent one. If you wear glasses in every scan, wear the same pair, in the same light, at the same camera height, so the history compares your face rather than a changing frame. A sudden change in vision, a droop, or eye pain is a question for a doctor, not an app.

What if I cannot scan without glasses?

Keep the pair fixed. A scan with the same frames, the same lighting, and the same eye-level camera is comparable to your last one. Taking one scan with glasses and the next without, or swapping frames between scans, changes how the eye corners and brows read. That change is the eyewear. It is not a change in your face. The longer photo guide says the same thing in one line: glasses off if you can.
